If presidential elections were held next Sunday, the leader of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon would poll most of the votes. This would be followed by the chairman of the Democratic Party Marian Lupu, with whom he would compete in the runoff, the head of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” and the leader of the Party “Action and Solidarity” Maia Sandu, shows a sociopolitical survey conducted by the company Intellect Group, IPN reports.
69% of the respondents would prefer a man to hold the office of President, while 16% would prefer a woman. The others said the gender is not important for them. According to those polled, Igor Dodon is the most active candidate. He is followed by Marian Lupu, Andrei Nastase, Maia Sandu, and the head of the European People’s Party of Moldova Iurie Leanca.
53% of those surveyed consider the future President should make effort to cooperate with the Government and Parliament, while over 30% think this should try and solve Parliament. The others didn’t know what to answer.
If a referendum on Moldova’s entry into the EU was held next Sunday, 54% of those polled would vote in favor. If a referendum on joining the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union was held, 45% of the respondents would vote for.
Asked which of the parties represent Moldova’s European course, the largest part of the respondents said the Democratic Party. This is followed, in descending order, by the Party “Action and Solidarity, the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth”, the European People’s Party of Moldova and the Liberal Party.
Intellect Group carried out the poll between September 29 and October 9. This covered a sample of 1,800 persons. The margin of sampling error is 3%.
