The initiative group of the People’s Will Party filed the documents required for registering the party to the Public Services Agency on May 28. The party’s administration said they aim to enter Parliament after this autumn’s elections so as to make the people’s will heard and to contribute to restoring the rule of law.

Contacted by IPN, the party’s president Stefan Uratu said a series of problems were identified in the registration process and these are related to communication and transfer of powers from the Ministry of Justice to the Public Services Agency. It lasted until they managed to come into contact with those responsible and were later referred to other bodies for several times. Ultimately, the documents were submitted. The initiative group is to present itself again for being notified of the registration of the party and Stefan Uratu voiced hope that this will happen soon.

To be registered, a party should have at least 4,000 members. Stefan Uratu, who was a member of the Central Election Commission, said the People’s Will Party has already 6,400 members and is open to other persons who  want to join in. There should be at least 18 local organizations in administrative bodies of the second level, but the People’s Will Party constituted 24 local organizations already.

The party’s administrative bodies also include: Vladimir Turcanu, who was named first deputy president of the party; Ion Levinta – deputy president, and Iurie Scobioala, secretary general of the party. “We aim to become a visible party with weight in Parliament so as to make the people’s voice heard and respected. Until now the people’s will was neglected and didn’t correspond to what was presented as election outcome,” noted Stefan Uratu.

According to him, the new party, having sufficient bodies, will ensure the overseeing of the electoral process so that the fraud is diminished to a maximum. The party will struggle to restore the rule of law and constitutional order.
