The Moldovan Filmmakers’ Union (UCM) presented, in premiere, the full length documentary film “The Test of Freedom” to the representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Chisinau, members of the Parliament, representatives of artists’ unions. The event took place on Thursday, within the traditional artistic evening at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Moldova. Head of UCM, Eugen Sobor, told Info-Prim Neo that “The Test of Freedom” is an attempt to evaluate the period that passed since the Republic of Moldova’s independence, without making any political publicity. Via archive documents, political declarations, testimonies of the participants in events preceding the act of obtaining the independence, the authors of the film, screenplay authors Eugen Sobor and Mihai Poiata, director Mircea Chistruga, cameramen Vlad Druc and Oleg Popescu, editor Vlad Olarescu, sought a plausible answer to questions worrying the Moldovan society over the last 15 years, says Eugen Sobor. The film “The Test of Freedom” emphasized multiple problems the society faces, including the Transnistrian conflict. The audience present in the hall, circa 150 representatives of the diplomatic corps, politicians and artists from Moldova as well as a delegation from Tiraspol appreciated both the film and the fact that it analyzed very objectively social-political problems. At least these were the comments of the spectators on the film during 2 hours following its demonstration. “The Test of Freedom” was made by the members of the UCM with the support of the “Cinerama” Foundation. It is the second film produced by the Filmmakers’ Union after “The Children from Transnistria” by Vlad Druc.
