The Cabinet approved the Deontological Code of the Medical Worker and Druggist that defines the principles and mandatory norms of conduct in relation to patients and in the collegial relations, IPN reports.

The Deontological Code provides that the medical workers will furnish the patients with comprehensive information about their state of health and treatment stages. In case of a gloomy prognostication, they will offer psycho-emotional support to the patient, ensuring the confidentiality of information obtained during medical examinations.

In emergencies, the medical workers or druggists who will be near the person in danger will provide the necessary assistance and will remain near the patient as long as it is necessary. These will also be obliged to avoid acts of corruption or bribery and to obtain unjustified advantages.

In order to ensure the code is implemented, ethics committees will be created at health and pharmaceutical facilities to monitor and promote the given norms. The medical and pharmaceutical personnel will bear disciplinary responsibility if they violate the Deontological Code.
