Doctor’s thesis defended at Faculty of Journalism for the first time

A doctor’s thesis was for the first time defended at the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences on Thursday, August 23. The event is important because the author of the thesis in philology, Dorel Cosma is a Romanian journalist. His work was reviewed by Ile Rad, doctor in philology at the Cluj-Napoca-based “Babes-Bolyai” University. The work entitled “Tendencies in the evolution of interview in the contemporary press” defended by Dorel Cosma aims at identifying the role of the interview in the journalist capitalisation of the reality, as well as analysing the changes which occurred in the evolution of the interview in the contemporary press. According to the dean of the faculty, Constantin Marin, until now all the doctoral students of the faculty were defending their thesis in other university centres or scientific councils in other institutions. From now on, the doctoral students of the State University of Moldova as well as of other universities will have the possibility to defend their doctor degree works at the specialised scientific Council from the Journalism Department within SUM. At present, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences has 15 doctoral students.
