The medical personnel living in the Transnistrian region who work for health facilities situated on the right bank of the Nistru will be accommodated in the localities where they work. For the purpose, the local public authorities identified dwellings. The accommodation costs and other administrative arrangements are covered with the assistance of the EU, IPN reports.

The Reintegration Policies Bureau said this solution was identified following the travel restrictions imposed by the Transnistrian side, which forces the persons who are allowed to enter the region to self-isolate for 14 days. The Bureau received 95 applications from the local public authorities of the Security Zone and the responsible ministry referring to the impediments imposed by the Transnistrian side on medical personnel.

The accommodation of doctors in the localities where they work is based on voluntary principles. Fourteen doctors from seven districts have been lodged so far.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Cristina Lesnic requested the Transnistrian side to allow the doctors to move freely. After meeting with refusal, she notified the meditators in the Transnistrian settlement process and the relevant international organizations.
