Depending on the epidemiological indicators, the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission will take decisions as to the obligation to present the COVID-19 certificate at the workplace. According to the coordinator of the national immunization campaign Ninel Revenco, the experience of European states shows such a move leads to a considerable rise in the vaccination rate nationwide, IPN reports.

According to immunization specialists, the obligation to have a green certificate showing the vaccine series was completed, the test result is negative or recovery from the disease in the case of public and private sector employees would significantly boost vaccination among the adult population.

“We are considering the opportunity of such a measure and are studying the experience of other states. France introduced this certificate in August and, despite the demonstrations staged by those who are against vaccines, the immunization rate grew considerably there. Portugal has extraordinary experience in this regard. The country was fully immunized. We have one goal – to save the citizens. But a decision will be taken depending on the epidemiological indicators,” Ninel Revenco stated in the talk show “Emphasis on Today” on TVR Moldova channel.

According to specialists, the obligation to have a green certificate for entering public eating places showed the efficiency of such a measure as the number of vaccinated persons rose. It is the duty of each institution head to encourage the employees to get vaccinated.

“Vaccination is not only my problem, as of the manager of a health facility. It is the problem of each manager, from any area of activity. After the last access restrictions were imposed, more institutions have sought assistance from us in informing employees about the advantages of immunization. For example, the banks have over 2,000 employees and have a rather good vaccination rate, of over 60. This means many institution managers realize that vaccination means the possibility of working without problems,” said the head of the Buiucani Local Medical Association Liliana Iașan.

The National Extraordinary Public Health Commission recommended achieving a vaccination rate of 95% among frontline workers, whose interaction with citizens poses a high risk of infection, until December 1. It goes to the personnel of public and private health facilities, social-medical and recovery institutions and sanatoriums. A vaccination rate of 95% is also recommended for the personnel of placement centers for children and older persons and of post offices and banks. The decisions also refers to employees of the units managed by the Ministry of the Interior and the Customs Service, employees of the central and local public authorities and all those who interact directly with people in the line of duty, such as employees of the Public Services Agency, drivers and workers of the hospitality industry.
