Doctor suspected of passive corruption

Officers of the National Anticorruption Center arrested a doctor of the Buiucani Local Council for Determining Disability and Work Capacity on suspicion of passive corruption. In a communiqué, the Center says that the doctor is suspected of asking for 5,000 lei from a person for granting him a disability degree, IPN reports.

When the doctor was arrested, the money was found in his wallet. He gave the money voluntarily to the officers. The doctor is investigated outside prison. He faces up to 10 years behind bars and a fine of up to 60,000 lei.
