Investigation officers arrested four members of a group that distributed heroine in considerable amounts. These were remanded in custody for 30 days. Also, a doctor of the National Narcological Dispensary, who is suspected of forming part of this group, is investigated outside jail, IPN reports.

In a press release, it is said that employees of the Special Operations Division of the National Investigations Inspectorate, in cooperation with the Botanica Prosecutor’s Office of Chisinau, had monitored the group during five months. The group was led by a 46-year-old man, who is known as “Sashkez” in the criminal underworld, and included four members aged between 33 and 56 living in Chisinau. Earlier, four of them were tried for similar offenses and serious and very serious crimes.

Upon searches at the place of the group’s leader and his partner, who works as a doctor at the National Narcological Dispensary, the officers found and seized a large quantity of drugs with psychotropic effect without documents of origin. It was established that these were stolen by the woman from her workplace.

At the homes of the other suspects, there were found about 200 grams of heroine, electronic scales and money earned from the sale of drugs. The narcotics were smuggled from Turkey and were to be sold on the black market of Moldova.

The four face 7 to 15 years in jail.
