A man and a woman from Chisinau were arrested on suspicion that they sold psychotropic drugs. The found medicines and the drugs sold by the two were estimated at over 200,000 lei, IPN reports.
According to the police, the man works as a neurologist at a hospital in Chisinau, while the woman is a drug user and distributor. The doctor sold psychotropic drugs and issued prescriptions that enabled drug users to purchase from drugstores medicines with psychotropic effect that are under the control of the state.
The suspects were arrested for a period of 30 days and face 7 to 15 years in jail.
