Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin wrote on Twitter that the plan by which he was flying to Chisinau had to return as the lives of passengers were in danger. “The Romanian authorities endangered the lives of the passengers of the S7 Airlines’ flight, including women and children. Fuel was enough only up to Minsk. Wait for answer, rascals,” wrote Rogozin.

/2:35pm/Civic activists and veterans of the Nistru war are protesting in front of the Chisinau International Airport, where the delegation of the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin is to arrive. The area is full of police officers, IPN reports.

The veterans called Rogozin Russian hawk that wants to attack the Republic of Moldova as well. The protesters carry placards saying “Moldova has National Dignity!”, “Rogozin, persona non-grata!”, “Rogozin, go out of Moldova!”, “Russian army, go out!”.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Russia is expected to take part in the events that will be staged in Tiraspol on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the start of the peacekeeping mission on the Nistru. Today, July 28, he will have a meeting with President Igor Dodon.

In the evening of July 26, a number of Russian citizens, including an MP and artists, were banned from entering Moldova. The Border Police said the Russian citizens didn’t meet the conditions for being authorized to cross the border as they could not justify the goal of their visit. In the morning of July 28, Igor Dodon had a meeting with Russia’s Ambassador to Moldova Farit Muhametshin. The presidential administration said the sides discussed the provocative actions by the Moldova authorities that didn’t allow Russian artists to enter Moldova. The Head of State said all these actions will be examined apart, noting such an attitude is absolutely inadmissible and all those who will stage provocations that lead to the worsening of the strategic bilateral relations with Russia will be identified and held accountable.
