Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Victor Osipov who is on a visit to Washington told the U.S. partners about the present state and prospects of the Transnistrian conflict settlements talks, stressing the necessity of resuming the talks in the 5+2 format this year, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Reintegration Office. Today, May 4, Victor Osipov had meetings at the Department of State, the Department of Defense, the National Security Council and the Office of the U.S. Vice President. In the meetings, he underlined the importance of continuing the implementation of the measures aimed at building confidence between the two banks of the Nistru. He thanked the U.S. Government for its constant support in this respect. Officials of the National Security Council and the Office of the U.S. Vice President approved of the constructive steps taken by the Government of Moldova to renew the talks in the 5+2 format and identify a viable solution to the Transnistrian conflict.
