Disconnections prompt people with overdue water bills to pay

One week into Apa-Canal Chisinau's efforts to recover debts that include disrupting water supply to residential blocks with large overdue debts, the water utility accumulated 220,000 lei on its accounts. The utility said in a press release that 13 apartment blocks were disconnected over the last week, and only 5 of them remain without water supply. The rest were re-connected after paying over 50% of the overdue debts or agreeing to rescheduling plans. The water utility announced that further 13 apartment buildings are planned to be disconnected in Ciocana district on Tuesday, and this “should serve as a warning for all the consumers with debts”.
