The Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel was presented with the Order of Honor by President Nicolae Timofti in gratitude for his contribution to developing and strengthening the relations between Moldova and the European Union, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the presidential press service, Nicolae Timofti and Dirk Schuebel had an official meeting on the occasion of the competition by the European official of his duties in Chisinau. The head of state thanked the Head of the EU Delegation for the contribution made to developing the relationship between Moldova and the EU and for the political support and assistance offered by the European institutions and the EU member states to Moldova in the European integration process.
Dirk Schuebel said that it was a privilege for him to work in Moldova and that during his tenure he has been an eyewitness to the changes that took place here. “Moldova made significant progress in its democratic development. Without doubt, the efforts to modernize the country made by the Moldovan authorities will be appreciated at the Vilnius Summit of this November,” said the diplomat.
The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of Sweden Ingrid Tersman, Ambassador of Ukraine Serghei Pirojkov and Ambassador of Germany Matthias Meyer.
