EU Ambassador to Moldova Dirk Schuebel said it will be said for him to leave Moldova, which is a nice country with very friendly and hospitable people who offered him and his family a warm stay. He made the statements in an interview for Radio Free Europe, IPN reports.

“Moldova surely has a lot of things to show and offer. I do not mean only the nice ladies and the tasty wine. But I can confirm the both. In fact, I use to say that Moldova has everything except gas and oil. These ’drawbacks’ represent a feature that makes it similar to other countries. That’s why we must cooperate in order to remove them,” said the ambassador.

Dirk Schuebel also said that Moldova has nice places, a very fertile soil and even the best black earth in Europe. “You have very hardworking people and thus all the necessary ingredients. You must only get the necessary recipe so as to achieve results by mixing these ingredients with care,” he added.

As to the exodus of Moldovans, Dirk Schuebel said that this phenomenon has certain advantages because those who visited other countries learned to work in a different way. They worked in Italy and other European countries and return with new ideas.

Dirk Schuebel, whose tenure expired in April, was named to post in 2009. He will be replaced by Pirkka Tapiola, former adviser on the developments in Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the European External Action Service.
