Dirk Schuebel and Vladimir Voronin discuss EU-Moldova relations

The Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Dirk Schuebel Friday had a meeting with the leader of the opposition party Vladimir Voronin. After the meeting, the EU Ambassador said that he and the chairman of the Communist Party conferred on the relations between the European Union and Moldova. Vladimir Voronin did not make statements for the press, Info-Prim Neo reports. Dirk Schuebel said that he stated his position on the closing of the private TV channel NIT. The EU Delegation took note of the Broadcasting Coordination Council’s decision to withdraw the broadcasting license of the channel and calls on the competent authorities to apply the same norms on all media in Moldova. He also spoke about the boycotting by the Communist MPs of the legislature’s sittings. “I said that we hope the PCRM till return to Parliament. I think that you know Mister Voronin’s position,” said the Ambassador. The meeting was held behind closed doors at the PCRM’s head office. It lasted for over an hour.
