The Transnistrian administration intends to launch a number of freight and passenger dirigible flights with the assistance of a Russian company. Dirigibles are large aircraft without wings, filled with a gas which is lighter than air, and driven by engine, IPN reports.

According to the Transnistrian agency “Novostipmr”, the first dirigible will start to fly on the Camenca-Dnestrovsk route this autumn. The airship will enable to transport up to three tonnes of goods or 30 passengers and their baggage.

The Transnistrian administration plans to connect the south and the north of the region by dirigible routes.

A dirigible moves at a speed of 110 km per hour.
