Director of Unibank branch in Ceadir-Lunga disappeared with almost 4m lei

The director of the Unibank branch in Ceadir-Lunga, who is the main suspect in the murder of local councilor Sergey Ganev, stole 3.8 million lei from the bank and disappeared, using the company’s Dacia Logan car, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a communiqué from the bank, the director of the Unibank branch in Ceadir-Lunga Alexandru Ghenov stole the money and ran away on May 7, when the councilor’s body was found in a forest near the town. The bank asked the law enforcement bodies to investigate the case. A criminal case was started over this case. The bank’s administration assures that the situation at the bank is under control and the branch in Ceadir-Lunga works as usual, while the damage caused will not affect the bank’s activity. Sergey Ganev left home on May 1 and did not return. On May 4 he was reported missing and was found dead on May 7. Earlier, the councilor held the post of chairman of the Ceadir-Lunga Town Council. He also ran a business in the construction sector.
