Dignitary of transport registration and record bureau held on misuse of authority charges

A dignitary of the bureau for transport registration and record bureau of the Ministry of Information Development in the city of Basarabeasca was held for a 20-day term for investigations for having exceeded his competences and causing considerable damages to public interests, according to the press service of the Interior Ministry. The police held the dignitary after being notified over illegal registration of transports with the assistance of the dignitary. Officers of the criminal police directorate held and developed a special action plan. Investigators established that 72 vehicles registered with the assistance of the suspect were smuggled to Moldova. The police found out that the suspect harmed the state by about one million lei. The Rascani district court in the Chisinau municipality issued a 20-day arrest warrant on the name of suspect on March 3. The police continue investigations in order to establish the identity of all participants in this case. The suspect runs the risk to spend 8-15 years in prison.
