The digital COVID–19 certificate will become available on the platform www.certificate-covid.gov.md as of October 15, Deputy Prime Minister for Digitization Iurie Țurcanu assured. According to the official, the certificate can be downloaded free and the electronic variant is enough to be shown to law enforcement agencies or managers of leisure places, IPN reports.

Iurie Țurcanu said the digital certificate will facilitate the free movement during the pandemic, with the information on the certificate being available in English and Romanian.

“This digital COVID-19 certificate can be downloaded from www.certificate-covid.gov.md  onto any device. The IDNO and birthdate of the person whose certificate we want to download are introduced and information about vaccination or the done tests is obtained. Also, this certificate can be downloaded for being kept on mobile devices so that we do not print it and can present it from the mobile phone anytime we need,” Iurie Țurcanu stated in the talk show “Moldova Live” on the public TV channel M1.

According to representatives of the Ministry of Health, the COVID-19 certificate is an official proof of vaccination, negative testing or recovery from COVID-19.

“The COVID-19 certificate includes three types of certificates showing three different situations, but they all ensure access to places with restricted access. The vaccine certificate with a completed vaccination series becomes valid in 14 days of the completion of the scheme. The test certificate contains a negative PCR or antigen test result, while the recovery certificate is valid for six months of the moment the person was confirmed with COVID-19,” said secretary of state at the Ministry of Health Svetlana Nicolaescu.

The National Extraordinary Public Health commission decreed that when showing the COVID-19 certificate, the citizens must also present a form of identification or digital copies. Also, during the ongoing state of emergency, it becomes mandatory for everyone except minors to carry a form of identification, or copies thereof, in all public spaces, either open or enclosed, including on public transport.
