The Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commercial-economic cooperation commission treats all the issues and the most difficult problems, like those concerning the supply of gas and migration, will be discussed after the new Government of Russia is formed, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said after a bilateral meeting of the commission’s co-chairmen that was held in Chisinau on April 16, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We must use the potential of this commission so as to consider and solve the appearing problems and to create preconditions for developing new projects,” said Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Lazar, who heads the commission on behalf of Moldova. He said that they discussed the implementation of joint investments projects and issues concerning the supply of energy recourses, especially gas. “The bilateral commercial relations develop dynamically. Together with the transactions of the Transnistrian commercial organizations, we reached a figure of US$2 billion, which is significant if taking into account the Moldovan dimensions. We discussed possibilities of launching joint investment projects, for supplying goods and providing services on third markets,” stated Lazar. Dmitry Rogozin said that a Business Council was created within the Russian Chamber of Trade and Industry, which includes businessmen who will work with Moldova. “I will have a meeting with the members of this council, who expect the Moldovan partners to programmatically and flexibly address the problems,” he stressed. He gave as example the attitude of Valeriu Lazar. He said that Lazar is among the few who managed to establish friendship relations with the head of Russia’s food safety body Rospotrebnadzor Gennady Onishchenko. Dmitry Rogozin is paying a visit to Moldova. The program of the visit includes meetings with President Nicolae Timofti, Prime Minister Vlad Filat and representatives of the Transnistrian administration. The next meeting of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commercial-economic cooperation commission will take place in the second half of this year. Russia is the main commercial partner of Moldova. Exports to this country last year rose by 55% to US$625.5 million, while imports by 40.3% to US$822.9 million.
