Some experts consider the protesters should accept the social dialogue proposed by the government, while others think such a dialogue will not have the expected result. Such opinions were stated in the talk show “Politics” on TV 7 channel, IPN reports.

Anatol Taranu, director of the Center for Political Research and Consultancy “Politicon”, said this dialogue could determine the government to satisfy protesters’ demands. “All the sides should become involved in this dialog, which could become a start for changing the situation in the country. I don’t think the political class will be changed, but a platform can be formed for society to take part in governance,” he stated.

On the other hand, Corneliu Ciurea, expert of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul”, considers the social dialogue between the protesters and the government will fail. “This dialogue will not end with important results. Those from the government saw that the protesters do not have the force and courage to go up to the end and thus do not take them seriously,” he stated.

Political commentator Alexei Tulbure also believes that the social dialogue will not be successful. “The people lost patience and do not want to hear about this government. They will not allow the politicians to cheat them this time. Even the eccentric protests that included the vandalizing of the head office of the Liberal Democratic Party show that the people can no longer tolerate the current situation,” he said.

Last week, Head of Parliament Andrian Candu, President Nicolae Timofti and Prime Minister Valeriu Strelet signed a public appeal for social dialogue by which they call on the political class and civil society to joint efforts and identify a solution to overcome the impasse faced by Moldova. The first meeting of the members of the dialogue platform is to take place on October 13.
