The price of diesel nears 28 lei per liter. For the period August 31-September 1, the national energy regulator ANRE set the price maximum at 27.92 lei, a 0.18 leu increase from Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a liter of 95 gasoline will sell for no more than 25.72 lei. Liquefied gas, for which ANRE does not set maximum prices, sells today for around 16.70 lei.
At the beginning of September last year, a liter of 95 gasoline cost 20.23 lei, and a liter of diesel 16.42 lei. A wave of fuel price increases occurred over the past year, with historical records hit in June, when a liter of COR 95 gasoline cost 33.90 lei, and a liter of diesel 32.46 lei.
Moldova relies a hundred percent on imports for its petroleum product consumption.
