Diaspora to get an office in Chisinau

An office of the diaspora will be established in Moldova under the State Chancellery. Prime Minister Vlad Filat stated on Thursday, during the 5th Congress of the Diaspora, that this decision has been reached after several discussions on a potential institution of the diaspora, reports Info-Prim Neo. Vlad Filat pointed out that the members of the Government realized the necessity for an institution that would be concerned with solving the problems of Moldovans residing abroad. Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu said that he had the privilege to meet with the diaspora in several states, and the people there noted the lack of cultural centers for them. “Together we will seek common models for solving such problems. A portal will be developed in the nearest future, which will ensure communication between the diaspora and the legislative forum”, stated the Speaker. The 5th Congress of the Diaspora gathered over 100 representatives from 25 states.
