The voting in the October 30 presidential elections of Moldova starts in Japan and ends in the United States. All over the world, the polling places will work between 7am and 9pm, but the difference is made by the time zone, IPN reports.
The Moldovans in Japan will go to vote the first, at the only polling place established in Tokyo. Voting starts when it will be midnight in Moldova. One hour later, the polling place in China’s Beijing will be opened.
When it will be 2am in Moldova, the Moldovans are expected at the polling station in the Russian town Krasnoyarsk. Two hours later, polling places will be opened in Russia’s Nijnevartovsk.
In Azerbaijan, the polling station in Baku opens at 5am, Moldova’s time. At 6am, Moldova’s time, the Moldovans who settled in the Russian towns Moscow, Sochi, Kursk, and St Petersburg can start to vote, as can the Moldovans who are in Turkey, at the polling places in Ankara, Istanbul, and Antalya. The polling station in Doha (Qatar) and that in Minsk (Belarus) will open at the same hour.
Simultaneously with the polling places of Moldova, there will be opened the polling stations in Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Israel, and Ukraine.
One hour later, the Moldovans in Hungary, Poland, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, the Netherlands, Sweden, Monaco, Belgium, Switzerland, and Italy can also start to vote. When it will be 9am in Moldova, polling places will be opened in Ireland, the UK and Portugal.
On the territory of Canada and the United States, the voting process starts when it is 1pm in Moldova and ends on October 31 at 6am, Moldova’s time.
A number of 100 polling places were established for Moldova’s presidential elections outside the country’s borders.
