The Chisinau Appeals Court upheld the decision of the ordinary court in the case of the “Diaspora vs. Moldova”, according to which the right to vote of the Moldovans from the diaspora in the presidential elections wasn’t violated.

The lawyer for the plaintiffs Eduard Digore has told IPN that the defense will appeal the decision to the Supreme Court of Justice by the time limit.

Besides the lawsuit filed by Moldovans from the diaspora after the elections, the team of the Party “Action and Solidarity” led by Maia Sandu also lodged two electoral complaints. One of these ended with a definitive and irrevocable decision, while the other one is to be examined by the Supreme Court of Justice.

This year’s presidential elections ended with the victory of Socialist leader Igor Dodon. The Constitutional Court will take a decision as to the validation of the election outcome after all the electoral cases are dealt with by the common law courts.
