The Moldovans went abroad to work because they were dissatisfied with the governance and will return if they are sure they will enjoy support in the country, the leader of the Moldovan community in Canada's Quebec Ala Mandacanu said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. “You should campaign abroad and tell the members of the Diaspora what they should vote for if you want them to take part in elections,” Ala Mandacanu said, addressing the politicians attending the fourth Congress of the Moldovan Diaspora in Chisinau. Ala Mandacanu stressed the people do not vote in elections if they are not informed and stimulated. “The political parties believe the voters will do their duty, but they are not obliged to go to the polls. For us, it is important that the politicians tell us how they consider the economic problems can be solved and how they can support us at home,” she said. Ala Mandacanu also said the Alliance for European Integration does much at diplomatic level, but does not work with the Diaspora. If Moldova obtains a visa-free regime with the EU and fights corruption more effectively, a lot of people will return home because they want to, said the leader of the Moldovan community in Quebec.
