The dialysis centers of seven national medical institutions will be rehabilitated within a public-private partnership. The Ministry of Health signed a relevant contract with B.Braun & BB-Hämodialyse, which won the public tender contest, IPN reports.
The German consortium will equip 12 private dialysis centers with last-generation apparatus so that the quality and treatment standards there are like those at any private dialysis center in the EU.
Minister of Health Andrei Usatyi said the implementation of the public-private partnership projects in healthcare is one of the few opportunities available for modernizing the health system, in particular the hospital medical assistance system.
According to the minister, owing to this partnership, the dialysis services will be extended to cover 3-4 times more patients – 1,200-1,300 people.
Earlier, Andrei Usatyi said that over 400 patients with chronic kidney disease are receiving treatment in Moldova.
