DGTPCC will soon propose a placing scheme of pocket type parking lots

The Public Transport General Division (DGTPCC) identified the places for building the pocket type parking lots and will soon propose the placing scheme to the Chisinau City Council for approval, stated the Division’s Chief Veaceslav Tarna. The initiative belongs to the general mayor of the capital. The cars are going to be parked under a 45 degrees angle to the road in special designed pocket parking lots. Currently the capital is in an urgent need of underground and multistoried parking places, said the mayor. But building them requires considerable time. Immediate actions also have the goal to optimise the traffic. According to the experts, the new parking places could appear in Chisinau in 2-3 months following the CCC decision and don’t require huge investments. The vehicles parked illegally on the pavements or on the side of the roads reduce by 30% the street-crossing capacity and make the traffic difficult.
