The Cabinet approved the intersector strategy for developing parenting skills and competences that is to be implemented during 2016 – 2022, IPN reports.

The document provides a common view on the necessity of forming and developing parenting skills by creating public and private services for improving the competences of parents, legal representatives or persons who are responsible for the care of the child and for developing parenting skills in young people.

The goal of the strategy is to ensure an appropriate family environment for children and a favorable environment for developing the personal and professional skills and competences. A series of programs and services to educate persons looking after children will be developed for the purpose. The move is aimed at helping the parents realize the role that they play in supporting the growth, education and development of the child and at offering them assistance in overcoming the faced difficulties.

The intersector strategy for developing parenting skills and competences will be implemented in two stages: 2016 – 2019 and 2020 – 2022.
