The prisoner who escaped from the Goian Penitentiary in the evening of July 16 was arrested. This was caught when he was travelling by a taxi to Varnita village of Anenii Noi district, IPN has learned from the Ministry of Justice.
According to deputy minister of justice Anatolie Munteanu, the state institutions reacted promptly to ensure the social security and preeminence of the law, this being a responsibility towards the people.
The 23-year-old escapee was sentenced to two years in jail for committing a road accident while under the influence of alcohol. He has served nine months in an open-type penitentiary. He now faces two more years’ imprisonment for escape.
