Four of the five children injured in Friday's accident, which occurred in the village Dezghingea in Comrat, were hospitalised in the traumatology and pediatrics departments. An eight-year-old boy died at the hospital on Saturday.
Contacted by IPN, Dmitri Stanilevici, head of department at Comrat District Hospital, said that the condition of the four children, aged 10 to 12, is satisfactory. The children are provided with proper medical care.
The eight-year-old boy, who was admitted to the intensive care department, suffered the most. He died the day after the accident.
The five children were hit hard by a car driven by a man under the influence and without a driver’s license. The accident took place on Friday, at 10:30 pm. The five children were playing at the edge of the road when the car smashed into them. The driver is in custody.
