If all the health workers, persons older than 60, those with comorbidies and teachers in a district were vaccinated, the persons in charge at the local level can decide by themselves to start the vaccination of the persons eligible to be immunized at the second stage, namely the public order sector employees, social assistants and others, Ninel Revenco, coordinator of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, has said, being quoted by IPN.

In an online program staged by Mama.md and UNICEF Moldova, Ninel Revenco noted that the number of persons vaccinated with the first dose of vaccine exceeds 51,500. The coverage rate is of 1.5%, this indicator being rather good for a month of vaccination. The second vaccination stage was launched in parallel with the first one and more immunization centers were opened.

The children will most probably not be immunized this year. In other states, children from the age of 12 will be vaccinated at the start of the school year. Next year, there will be immunized children from the age of six months.

All the COVID-19 vaccines are good and safe, regardless of the producer, and the preferences for a particular type of vaccine appear due to unawareness or to incorrect information. AstraZeneca is a global leader, being used in 105 countries, while Pfizer is used in about 80 countries. Other vaccines are used in fewer countries. This does not mean that one vaccine is better than another. What is important is that they are safe and efficient.

Ninel Revenco also said that after the first dose of vaccine is administered, the person gets a vaccination certificate in Romanian, Russian and English. This indicates the name, surname, personal identification number, name and series of the vaccine and date when it was administered, the stamp and signature of the institution where it was administered. The certificate does not represent that vaccination passport and could be used depending on the individual rules set down by each country.
