The Embassy of Romania in Chisinau provided details about the presidential elections that will take place in Romania on November 2. The Romanian citizens who will be on Moldova’s territory on the election day must know that they can vote with a valid identification paper, IPN reports.
In a communiqué, the Embassy says that the Romanian citizens living abroad, who will be outside Romania’s borders on the election day, can vote with the following valid identification papers: ordinary passport showing the country of residence; ordinary electronic passport showing the country of residence; temporary ordinary passport showing the country of residence, and the travel document.
The Romanian citizens living in Romania can vote abroad with the following valid identification papers: diplomatic passport; electronic diplomatic passport; work passport; electronic work passport; ordinary passport; ordinary electronic passport; temporary ordinary passport, and the travel document.
The Embassy informs that the Romanian citizens from Moldova cannot vote with the identity card, the citizenship certificate or the birth certificate at the polling places that will be established on Moldova’s territory.
The voting process on November 2 starts at 7am and ends at 9pm. The Romanian citizens who will be abroad on the election day can vote at any polling place set up abroad. They can vote after writing an own responsibility statement, saying they haven’t yet cast their ballots in the elections and will not vote elsewhere.
The Embassy of Romania in Moldova opened a telephone line for those who want to find out information about the Romanian presidential elections. The line 022 853 004 works from Monday through Friday, between 8am and 2pm.
