New details were provided in the case of the accident that happened on Lunca Bacului St in Chisinau. One man died and five persons were hurt when an electricity poll fell on them at a bus station. According to the police, the 24-year-old driver who hit the pole by his car is an employee of the armed forces. He was under the influence of alcohol. The public utility SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” said the victims are its employees, IPN reports.
Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati has told IPN that when the accident occurred, the driver was under the influence of alcohol. “The driver was under the influence. He had 0.60 promilles of alcohol in the exhaled air, which is a lot. Samples of blood were taken from the man to determine the level of alcohol in his blood,” she stated.
In a press release, SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” says the accident’s victims are employees of the company. These were waiting for the minibus and the accident happened outside the working hours. The victims suffered concussions and different fractures and are still in the hospital.
The car’s driver was placed under arrest for 72 hours initially. If he is found guilty, he will serve up to seven years in jail.
