The students who can vote will be able to cast their ballots in the presidential election by going to the polling station in the area where they live or have a valid residence according to the identification papers on the election day. If they have both the domicile and residence valid, they will vote at the polling station in the area where they have the residence, IPN reports, quoting the Central Election Commission.
The students can also vote in the presidential election by declaring the new place of stay by October 1 inclusive at the mayor’s office or at the district head’s office in the case of the municipality of Chisinau. This way, they can be put on the electoral roll at the polling place corresponding to their place of stay. The declaration is submitted in person by the applicant, together with the identity card with the accompanying loose leaf in the original and a copy. After filing the declaration, the persons will be put on the main electoral roll of the polling station where they are to vote.
If they do not manage to declare the new place of stay, the voters can go to the electoral office of the polling station in the area of the valid domicile or residence and take a right to vote certificate that enables them to vote at any other polling station. The procedure can be performed during October 12-31. With this certificate, the citizens on the election day are put on an additional list, while the certificate remains at the electoral office of the polling station and is attached to the additional list.
