Last night was a nightmare for a number of inhabitants of Caracui village of Hâncești district.  A drunk teen broke into the houses of a number of locals and attacked them, asking money from them. Some of them suffered bodily injuries, whereas a man was killed, IPN reports.

The General Police Inspectorate said a 37-year-old woman from Caracui called the police in Hâncești at about 2:30am. She said that an individual entered her home and, threatening her with a sharp object, asked money from her. Scared, the woman gave him the about 600 lei she had in her wallet.

When travelling to the domicile of the woman who described the culprit, the police offices saw that the gate and door of a house were open and went in. There they found the body of a man aged 44 who had knife wounds in the neck.

Meanwhile, one more call was made to the guard service of the Hâncești Police Inspectorate. A man said a teen entered the house of his father aged 82 and mistreated him, extorting money. The old man told the police that the aggressor, whom he recognized, hit him with a knife. He was given medical care and his life is now out of danger.

Shortly afterward, another caller informed about a burglary in the house of a woman aged 77. The woman was taken to the hospital for medical care.

The suspect was found in the backyard of a house. He was trying to hide. The 17-tyear-old teen from Caracui was in an advanced state of inebriation. The money that was presumably extorted from the victims was found on him.

While examining the four cases, the police received one more phone call. They were informed that a teen entered the house of a man aged 71 who was also threatened with a knife. The victim gave him 1,500 lei and the young man went away.

The teen is under arrest and will be investigated for burglaries and intentional murder.

The police initially announced that two teens were arrested in this case. Contacted by IPN for details, press officer of the General Police Inspectorate Diana Fetco said there were detained two teens who had been together during the night, but the police decided to hold only one of them.
