Update: Following approaches made by Moldova’s diplomatic and consular missions in Budapest and Padova, the first convoy of trucks of those who remained blocked crossed the border with Slovenia and are heading for Moldova.

A number of Moldovan trucks got stuck on the border of Slovenia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said that it was notified on March 15 and made approaches were made to coordinate technical aspects of the trucks’ transit route up to Moldova, IPN reports.

The Ministry reiterates the call to the Moldovans abroad to avoid trips, especially in areas affected by the COVID-19 infection, and warns that some of the states apply restrictive travel measures by banning access to and exit from particular areas and by closing border crossing points or instituting a mandatory quarantine period.
