The joint meeting of the Governments of the Republic of Moldova and Romania was set to take place in Chisinau on February 11. An intergovernmental agreement for technical and non-reimbursable financial assistance to the value of €100 million is to be signed in the meeting, IPN reports.

Organizational aspects of the meeting were discussed by the Moldovan Government’s secretary general Dumitru Udrea and the head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania Mircea Abrudean.

Based on the intergovernmental agreement for technical and non-reimbursable financial assistance to the value of €100 million, Romania will continue to provide assistance in implementing the socioeconomic development agenda of the Republic of Moldova.

“I thank you for the constant support offered to our country and express my confidence that the bilateral projects will continue to materialize and will have a major impact on the people. We have infrastructure projects, but we should also not forget about the social projects – in education, health, culture, which are appreciated by the citizens,” stated Dumitru Udrea, being quoted in a press release.

For his part, Mircea Abrudean expressed the Romanian side’s readiness to support projects aimed at improving the quality of life, which would bring the Republic of Moldova closer to the European Union. “It is important that the projects we will finance be really strategic, with an impact on the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, and reflect the main priorities, while the governmental teams of our countries should stay in touch so as to successfully achieve all the agreed objectives,” noted the Romanian official.
