The number of persons who were hospitalized with food poisoning after a wedding party given at a restaurant in Gratiesti commune of Chisinau municipality rose from 18 to 46. Salmonella was detected in the case of 15 of these, IPN reports.
In the August 28 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, head of the Public Health Center Luminita Suveica said more lab examinations are to be performed as salmonella was detected in patients, not yet it in the specimens of food taken at the restaurant.
As a result of this case of poisoning two weeks ago, the restaurant was closed, but this resumed work on August 28 following disinfection works.
