The congress set to take place at the Mimi Castle Winery in Bulboaca village of Anenii Noi district on October 10 was held despite the bomb threat. Police officers are still at the scene after over six hours of the call through which a person announced his intention to explode a bomb.

Contacted by IPN, Silvia Vetcu,
press officer of the Anenii Noi Police Inspectorate, said the bomb squad and kinologists examined the territory of the winery and found no explosive device. But the bomb threat cannot be declared a hoax until the person who called remains unidentified given that an intention was announced. The caller, a man who spoke Russian, phoned the 902 service from a cell phone that is now disconnected.

Silvia Vetcu also said that the planned event took place and the police took measures for the persons to be safe there.

Under the Penal Code, the intentional misinformation about a planned explosion, arson or other life-threatening and seriously-damaging acts is punished with a fine of 27,500 to 42,500 lei or 180 to 240 hours of community service, or at most two years in jail.
