Moldova's Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Eugen Carpov spoke at an international seminar held in Vienna about the importance of the sectoral groups’ work for the country’s reintegration. The Moldovan official presented the confidence-building measures used in the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict to over 30 experts and diplomats from different countries participating in the seminar, Info-Prim Neo reports. At the seminar titled “Confidence-building measures”, researchers and officials involved in the settlement of various conflicts shared their experience and views on the importance of confidence-building measures for stabilizing the post-conflict situation, enhancing cooperation and trust between conflicting parties. Also in Vienna, a new informal round of the 5+2 talks on the Transnistrian conflict took place on Monday. This format includes Moldova and the Transnistrian region as conflicting sides, OSCE as mediator, Russia and Ukraine as guarantors, the EU and the US as observers. The topics discussed included the current situation of the conflict and the progress of confidence-building measures.
