The Moldovan-Polish relations and the prospects of the bilateral cooperation were discussed by Poland’s Ambassador to Moldova Artur Michalski and Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Gheorghe Balan. The two officials noted the high level of the dialogue between Moldova and Poland, IPN reports.
According to the Reintegration Office, the two underlined the necessity of continuing the bilateral contacts at political and technical levels. In connection with the Moldovan authorities’ efforts to resolve the Transnistrian dispute, Gheorghe Balan mentioned the Government’s short- and medium-term priorities, noting the commitment to support the Transnistrians by extending the common areas all over the country and by implementing projects to develop the region socially and economically.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration spoke about the main problems from the agenda of the sides, which are to be dealt with as matters of urgency. These refer to the human rights situation in the Transnistrian region, the pressure exerted on the Moldovan-administered Latin-script schools and the barriers hindering the free movement.
