“With each step we take, we are coming closer to the values, standards and opportunities offered by the European Union,” said Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration. The Moldova official chaired a working meeting alongside members of the Cabinet and chairpersons, secretaries and members of the working groups in charge of the coordination of the European integration of Moldova, IPN reports, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The discussions centered on concrete activities stipulated in the action plan, whose goal is to bring Moldova closer to the European Union.
“We attentively examined the measures designed to increase the level of preparedness for meeting the accession criteria. We are now in the process of preparing the self-assessment of the national legislation’s compliance with the EU norms and regulations. We agreed that by October 1, 2023, the working groups for the 33 chapters of the EU acquis will transmit to each ministry the documents that need to be transposed to the national legislation,” stated Nicu Popescu.
“We are firmly determined to promote fluent and efficient communication between ministries and this objective will be achieved through the agency of the Deputy Secretaries General for European Affairs. With each step we take, we are coming closer to the values, standards and opportunities offered by the European Union.”
