After his visit to Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister Nicu Popescu, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, will be visiting Paris during June 9-10 to promote Moldova’s application for EU membership and pro-active economic diplomacy aimed at attracting investments, and to ensure communication with the diaspora in France, IPN reports.

On June 9, Nicu Popescu will take part in the annual conference of the European Union Institute for Security Studies organized with support from the French Presidency of the Council of the EU. The event involves EU’s foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna. The Moldovan official will give a speech in the panel “War in Ukraine: Europe’s Place in the World”, where he will talk about the most important peace project on the continent – the European Union, and how the Republic of Moldova can become a stability pole with the EU’s support.

Nicu Popescu will also discuss the comprehensive Moldovan-French dialogue with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna and other French officials from the Senate.

Moldova’s determination to become part of the European family will be discussed with the diaspora in France, businesspeople, academia members, representatives of think tanks, including at the French Institute of International Relations, and with journalists.
