Deputy PM Iurie Rosca urges better laws to inspect companies

The newly appointed Deputy Prime Minister Iurie Rosca is seeking the improvement of the laws regulation inspections of commercial entities. According to him, the amendments should clearly establish the number, frequency and the reasons for carrying out inspections, Info-Prim Neo reports. At the inaugural sitting of the Coordination Council for Combating Criminality chaired by Rosca on Monday, he explained: “it is a known fact, and we know it from companies too, that useless and unjustified inspections have intensified lately”. According to him, the Council needs to make effort to eliminate any form of checking that disturbs the activity of companies, discourages enterprise, affects the investment climate, and the development pace of the Moldovan economy in general. Rosca advised the Council's members to seek inspiration from the laws of other countries. “Honing legal standards will lead to the elimination on any suspicion concerning government abuses”, he added. Attending the meeting, Deputy Interior Minister Valentin Zubic said he had personally engaged in resolving such cases. He announced that, as of June 15, any inspection needs to be authorized by a relevant Interior Ministry top official before starting, and within 24 hours the leadership of the Ministry must be notified about the reasons for the checkup, which leads to a diminution in the number of inutile inspections. Former deputy speaker Iurie Rosca, who is also the leader of the Christian Democratic People's Party, was appointed as deputy prime minister through presidential decree on June 16. In the Government, he is responsible for the areas of human rights and freedoms, public order and combating of criminality.
