Deputy Minister of Local Public Administration appointed

The deputy mayor of Balti, Valentin Guznac, was appointed as deputy minister of Local Public Administration. The Government adopted this decision on Wednesday meeting, 5 July. The parliament approved the creation of the Local Public Administration Ministry (MAPL) on 16 February 2006. After numerous debates the bill was approved with the votes of the Communist deputies and a few of the opposition. Many deputies expressed their disapproval in the plenary session of the legislative with the creation of the new structure, saying that MAPL will become a centralization link of the local public administration. At the end of May, Vitalie Vrabie, ex-mayor of Ungheni was appointed as minister of the mentioned structure. At today’s government meeting, Petru Grecu, deputy manager of the National Agency for Regulations in Telecommunications and Information (ANRTI) was dismissed. The reasons of his dismissal were not disclosed.
