Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iulian Groza tendered his resignation and will join the new political project of ex-Premier Iurie Leanca. On his Facebook page, the official wrote that Moldova needs a new impetus and a new chance for achieving the country’s European modernization objective, IPN reports.
Iulian Groza says he is sure that the European integration is the only real way for building the country wanted by everyone – a modern Moldova where the law is observed, as in all the member states of the European Union.
“In the recent period, probably as many of you, I went through a stage of profound reflections on what I achieved until now and what I should do next. Personally, I felt the need for a change, for a new start, with new challenges. Consequently, I decided to take a break in my work at the Foreign Ministry and to withdraw from the post of deputy minister,” wrote Iulian Groza.
The official also said that now Moldova needs a new impetus and a new chance for achieving the country’s European modernization objective so that it ultimately becomes part of the EU. “I’m confident that this chance, which could be the last one, is closely connected with the new national project that Iurie Leanca will launch soon. That’s why I will use all my experience and knowledge to help Iurie Leanca in this important effort in which a large part of Moldovan society puts hope,” wrote Iulian Groza.
Earlier this week, Deputy Minister Valeriu Chiveri also announced that he resigned to follow Iurie Leanca. The project that the ex-Premier intends to present next week was also joined by former Deputy Prime Minister Eugen Carpov and Victor Lutenco, who resigned from the post of director of the Bureau for Diaspora Relations.
