Department of Oro-Maxillofacial Surgery reopened after repair

The Department of Oro-Maxillofacial Surgery for Adults, which is unique in the country, was inaugurated after repair at the Emergency Medicine Institute. According to the Ministry of Health, the Department, with a capacity of 32 beds, works nonstop and provides medical assistance to patients with various oro-maxillofacial pathologies, IPN reports.

The Department treats oro-maxillofacial pathologies, such as inflammatory processes, benign tumors of the soft parts and facial skeleton, severe trauma, congenital malformations, including head, neck, face and jaw congenital anomalies and of soft tissues of the oral cavity, posttraumatic, postoperative sequelae, etc.

The Department’s specialists provide a wide range of surgical procedures, including reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery, such as rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, otoplasty, face skin transplantation, scar removal, cervical-facial lift.

During 2021-2023, about 4,700 patients received treatment at the Department.

The full renovation of the unit was possible due to national public budget funds totaling 9.2 million lei.
