Three teams of military dentists from North Carolina provide free dental
care to children with hearing and locomotor impairments at specialized
institutions in Chisinau, Ialoveni and Straseni, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The children were diagnosed so as to see who needs dental care. We did
not identify serious problems. Only cleaning is needed in some of the
cases. The children are very obedient and it is easy to work with them.
In spring, we diagnosed them and now returned to treat them,” said
Lieutenant-Colonel Glenn Garland.
About 150 children will benefit from dental care within the Dental
Outreach Program that is implemented at the Central Military Clinical
Hospital between September 5 and 9. The children also received by a
toothbrush and toothpaste.
The event is a continuation of a series of yearly dental care programs
launched by the Bilateral Affairs Office (BAO) of the U.S. Embassy. The
cooperation with military doctors from North Carolina started 10 years
ago, when they carried out a free immunization campaign.
